Happy Camp Volunteer Ambulance Service is a volunteer service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We provide emergency services through the 911 system. We employ two office staff to handle the billing as well as being available for first out incidents. We respond to calls along the Klamath River on Hwy. 96 from Horse Creek to the Humboldt county line. Our ambulance personnel are National Registry Certified or California state certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) and Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-B). We are capable of dealing with many types of emergencies and have personnel trained in auto extrication, swift water rescue, CPR and airway management. We are able to administer medications, I.V. therapy, EKG and 12 lead monitoring, and cardiac support including defibrillation. Our ambulances are type 3 van and box style units - two Advance Life Support and one Basic Life Support. One of our units is equipped with 4 wheel drive and chains for those rugged mountainous calls and for winter travel. Our goal is to provide timely, excellent pre-hospital care and interventions as well as safe patient transport to the nearest and most appropriate medical facilities.
If you are interested in taking a CPR class, contact our certified trainers, Laurel Pena at (530)921-3017 or Kirk Eadie (530) 598-1549 / (530) 493-2643.
