2024 APPROVED AMBULANCE RATES 

The new 2024 Ambulance Rates reflect an increase based upon the Center for Medicare Services annual AIF or the Ambulance Inflation factor. New rates for HCVAS were approved at the meeting of the Board of Directors on November 2, 2023 with a unanimous vote. SERVICES

Happy Camp Volunteer Ambulance Service

is a volunteer service that operates 24 hours a day,

7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We provide emergency services through the 911 system.

We employ two office staff to handle the billing

as well as being available for first out incidents.

We respond to calls along the Klamath River on Hwy. 96

from Horse Creek to the Humboldt county line.

Our ambulance personnel are National Registry Certified

and/or California state certified

Paramedic,

Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT)

and Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-B).

We are capable of dealing with many types of emergencies

and have personnel trained in

auto extrication,

swift water rescue,

CPR and airway management, etc.

We are able to administer emergency medications,

I.V. therapy, EKG and 12 lead monitoring,

and cardiac support including defibrillation.

Our ambulances are type 3 van and box style units -

two Advance Life Support and

one Basic Life Support.

One of our units is equipped with 4 wheel drive

and chains for those rugged mountainous calls

and for winter travel. 

Our goal is to provide timely,

excellent pre-hospital care and

interventions as well as safe patient transport

to the nearest and most appropriate medical facilities.

AMBULANCE SUBSCRIPTION:    

Happy Camp Volunteer Ambulance Services income

is received from the billing of patient insurance.

We understand that even with insurance,

you may still be responsible for some

of the costs not paid for by your insurance company.

We provide a ambulance service subscription

that alleviates that out-of-pocket expense

or deductible for all dependent persons

living in your household for all

MEDICALLY NECESSARY emergency medical services.

If you wish to subscribe to this service,

with your payment (under SUBSCRIPTIONS tab). 

HELICOPTER SUBSCRIPTION:    

Happy Camp Volunteer Ambulance can assist you

in choosing a LIFE FLIGHT provider.

We are able to assist you in signing up with

one or all of the local helicopter services in our area.

Because we have a group network with these services,

you will enjoy a reduced membership price.

We work with the following Life Flight services:

Mercy Flights - located in Medford, Oregon (approximately a 20-25 minute flight)

Reach - located in Redding, California (approximately a 40-45 minute flight)
